Nostalgia Proof: Cassette Tapes

Hate 'em, don't miss 'em.

The tangling, the warping, the hiss.

The massive amount of time it took to make a mixtape.

The crappy sound quality, the inordinate cost.

The stupid record companies shuffling the song order of an album just so it would fit on a cassette. (That should be "She's the One", not "Night".)

To hell with 'em. Good riddance.

Oh, and screw VHS, too.

And CDs, while we're at it.

  1. Sorry, John but I gotta partially disagree with you. Before the advent of the CD burner, the blank cassette was the best way to preserve a newly bought vinyl record album. I loved using the leftover space to include the non-album B-side.

    1. I don't say they weren't handy in some instances, I merely say I don't miss 'em.

I do still love LPs, though.
